Der Live-Moment: Wer leitet, wie kommt die Bühne zustande, und worauf achtet die Moderation?

Die Rolle des Session-Managers

Jede Session hat einen Session-Manager — die Person, die moderiert und leitet. Sie eröffnet die Session, führt durchs Programm, ruft Sprecher auf und behält Fragen im Blick. Bei Integrationen (Webex/Teams/BBB) entspricht das der Host-/Moderatorenrolle im jeweiligen Tool.

Bühne & Fokus

Bei den nativen Formaten steht die Bühne im Mittelpunkt: Wer gerade spricht bzw. präsentiert, steht im Fokus, das Publikum schaut zu. Über den Fokus (focusType) eines Channels lässt sich steuern, was im Vordergrund steht — etwa die präsentierende Person oder der geteilte Inhalt.

Vor der Session — die Generalprobe

So geht's konkret
  1. Technik-CheckTon, Bild und (bei Integrationen) den Zugang rechtzeitig testen.
  2. Rollen klärenWer moderiert, wer präsentiert, wer betreut den Chat/Fragen.
  3. Materialien bereitFolien, Links, Umfragen vorbereiten.
  4. Früh öffnenEin paar Minuten vor Beginn live gehen — Teilnehmer kommen an.

Während der Session

  • Klar eröffnen: Thema, Ablauf, Spielregeln (Fragen wann/wie).
  • Interaktion einplanen: Fragen, Umfragen, kurze Pausen halten die Aufmerksamkeit.
  • Zeit im Blick: Puffer für Fragen am Ende lassen.
  • Teilnahme beobachten: Teilnehmerzahl und Fragen im Auge behalten.

Worauf achten

Bei großen Broadcasts (LiveKit/Live Stage) liegt der Fokus auf Zuschauen — Interaktion vor allem über Chat/Fragen. Für echte Zusammenarbeit in kleinen Gruppen sind BBB/Webex/Teams besser geeignet.

Troubleshooting

Der Beitritt zum Meeting funktioniert nicht.

Channel-Typ, Plattform-Account und Meeting-Details prüfen. Details je Format unter Channels.

Ton oder Bild fehlt.

Vorab-Technikcheck wiederholen; Mikrofon-/Kamera-Freigaben im Browser bzw. Tool prüfen.

The live moment: who leads, how the stage comes together, and what the moderation watches for?

The role of the session manager

Every session has a session manager — the person who moderates and leads. They open the session, guide through the programme, call up speakers and keep an eye on questions. For integrations (Webex/Teams/BBB) this corresponds to the host/moderator role in the respective tool.

Stage & focus

With the native formats the stage is central: whoever is currently speaking or presenting is in focus, the audience watches. Via the focus (focusType) of a channel you can control what is in the foreground — for example the presenting person or the shared content.

Before the session — the dress rehearsal

Step by step
  1. Tech checkTest audio, video and (for integrations) the access in good time.
  2. Clarify rolesWho moderates, who presents, who tends the chat/questions.
  3. Materials readyPrepare slides, links, polls.
  4. Open earlyGo live a few minutes before the start — participants arrive.

During the session

  • Open clearly: topic, flow, ground rules (questions when/how).
  • Plan for interaction: questions, polls, short breaks keep attention.
  • Keep an eye on time: leave a buffer for questions at the end.
  • Observe participation: keep an eye on participant numbers and questions.

What to watch

With large broadcasts (LiveKit/Live Stage) the focus is on watching — interaction mainly via chat/questions. For real collaboration in small groups, BBB/Webex/Teams are better suited.

Troubleshooting

Joining the meeting does not work.

Check the channel type, platform account and meeting details. Details per format under Channels.

Audio or video is missing.

Repeat the pre-event tech check; check microphone/camera permissions in the browser or tool.
